Abstract: In chemical physics, random walks are used to describe the behavior of polymers. A polymer is a long chain of monomers connecting by chemical bonds. When polymers like DNA or protein drifting in media, monomers may have chemical forces interacting with each other or with a reference surface or the impurity of the media. We will discuss the self-avoiding walk(SAW) and the directed pining model(DPM). If time permits, polymers in random media will be introduced.
