Abstract: In this talk, we present a limiting random analytic function which can be obtained by taking the ratio of the characteristic polynomial of a Haar-distributed unitary matrix at two points in the microscopic scale. This function, whose zeros form a determinantal sine-kernel process, can be also obtained as a limit of other random matrix models, including the Gaussian Unitary Ensemble. We also conjecture that it is also related to the asymptotic behavior of the Riemann zeta function near the critical line.
