Speaker : Professor Sheng-Chi Liu (Washington State University) Title : The $L^2$ restriction norm of a $GL(n)$ Maass form Time : 2018-07-06 (Fri) 10:00 - Place : Seminar Room 722, Institute of Mathematics (NTU Campus) Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss the $L^2$ restriction norm of a Maass form on $GL(n+1)$ restricted to $GL(n)$. Using the spectral decomposition on $GL(n)$ and the Rankin-Selberg method, we are led naturally to a family of $GL(n+1)XGL(n)$ $L$-functions. We give sharp upper and lower bounds for the restriction norm under certain assumptions (i.e., the Lindelof hypothesis, the weighted local Weyl law and others).
