Title : All genus LG/CY correspondence via log GLSM

Abstract: The LG/CY correspondence is a (conjectural) relationship between two curve counting theories associated to a homogeneous polynomial F:
  1. the Gromov-Witten theory of the projective hypersurface defined by F
  2. the Fan-Jarvis-Ruan-Witten theory of the affine singularity defined by F
While this correspondence has been applied very successful in physics to yield predictions for Gromov-Witten invariants, the two theories have very different definitions in mathematics.

In my talk, I will start by reviewing the two theories and the correspondence. Then, I will talk about a program "log GLSM" (logarithmic gauged linear sigma model) and how to it to prove the all genus LG/CY correspondence in the case of quintic threefolds.

This is based on joint works (some of which in progress) with Q. Chen, S. Guo and Y. Ruan.
