Title: Schur duality: themes and variations
Time: 2015-08-03 (Mon.)  15:00 - 16:00
Place: Auditorium, 6 Floor, Institute of Mathematics (NTU Campus)
Abstract: We will start with reviewing the classical Schur duality (as popularized by Hermann Weyl), which connects representations of symmetric groups and general linear groups, as well as algebraic combinatorics. Then we will explain the quantum Schur duality due to Jimbo, its categorical and geometric interpretations (via BGG category O and flag varieties). Time permitting, we will offer further variations and applications.
