Double Descent and Periods

  • Abstract : In recent years, Ginzburg and Soudry gave a new lifting using Fourier coefficients of residues of Eisenstein series. The lifting is called "double descent" and is expected to realize automorphic forms belonging to a relatively large class. In this talk, I will discuss double descent. The goal of this talk is to explain applications of double descent to formulae between (automorphic) periods and special L-values.
