In this talk we discuss the beautiful theory of lattice path combinatorics and combinatorial statistics by investigating two perspectives. One is the correlation between lattice path enumerator and the (des, inv)-polynomial, and the other is the local-global property of combinatorial statistics. These are based on joint works with Catherine Yan, and with G.-N. Han, respectively.
