Abstract : I will discuss three instances where vertex operator algebras have appeared from the perspective of an auxiliary geometry or topology: i) isomonodromic deformations of differential equations which represent quantum curves, ii) topological invariants of 3-dimensional manifolds, and iii) Nakajima quiver varieties. Each perspective has a specific set of analysis or computational tools — such as exact WKB analysis or modularity — which in turn provide answers to various puzzles and insights to new structures, with physical applications.
