Analysis Seminar

Radon measure-valued solutions of compressible Euler equations and their applications

  • Date : 2025/03/25 (Tue.) 10:00~13:00
  • Location : online
  • Speaker : Hairong Yuan (East China Normal University)
  • Organizer : Tai-Ping Liu (AS)
  • Abstract : In this talk, I will demonstrate that it is quite natural to consider measures as solutions to the compressible Euler equations from the perspective of continuum physics. We can define Radon measure-valued solutions to the compressible Euler equations for general fluids, including polytropic gases, which can address certain singularities encountered in multi-scale problems, such as inviscid hypersonic flows around bodies, the Newton-Busemann law, free-piston problems, singular Riemann problems, and droplets undergoing phase transitions. I will present these developments, which offer a novel approach to tackling complex fluid-structure interactions in applications.
