- Abstract : Let G be a connected reductive group with Lie algebra g and Weyl group W. Yun proved that a generic lift of a nilpotent orbit of g to g((t)) has a unique minimal reduction type. I will sketch this story and explain an extension to parahoric subgroups of G((t)). The proof uses affine Springer fibers and Yun's global Springer theory. I will sketch some ideas that appear. Finally, I will explain some connections to strata and cells.
