Abstract : Totally positive matrices are n times n matrices with real entries such that any minor is $>0$. They were introduced by Schoenberg and Krein-Gantmacher in the 1930's. They form an open semigroup in $GL_n(R)$. I will talk about the extension of this theory to other Lie groups.
