Algebraic Geometry Seminar

Quantum Fano Transitions

  • Date : 2026/05/20 (Wed.) 15:00~17:00
  • Location : Seminar Room 638, Institute of Mathematics (NTU Campus)
  • Speaker : Shuang-Yen Lee (AS)
  • Organizer : Ionut Ciocan-Fontanine and Y.P. Lee (AS)
  • Abstract : A Fano transition is a generalization of threefold Type II extremal transitions to arbitrary dimensions, consisting of a primitive crepant contraction of a smooth Fano divisor to a single point, followed by a smoothing of the resulting singular variety. In this talk, I will explain how to establish a precise and computable relationship between the quantum cohomologies of the resolution variety Y and the smoothing X.
