- Abstract : A Fano transition is a generalization of threefold Type II extremal transitions to arbitrary dimensions, consisting of a primitive crepant contraction of a smooth Fano divisor to a single point, followed by a smoothing of the resulting singular variety. In this talk, I will explain how to establish a precise and computable relationship between the quantum cohomologies of the resolution variety Y and the smoothing X.
