Combinatorial study of Whittaker functions on p-adic groups via quantum Fock spaces

  • Abstract : The action of the spherical Hecke algebra of a p-adic group on its Gelfand Graev module mirrors the (local) action of Hecke operators on Fourier coefficients of modular forms (or Maass forms). I'll explain how to interpret this action in the setting of metaplectic covers of p-adic groups in terms of the quantum Fock space in Cartan types A and C; these interpretations produce some interesting connections between the p-adic world and quantum affine gl_n and a certain coideal subalgebra of it.
