Clustering Dynamics of the Inertial Spin Model

  • Abstract : In this talk, we will discuss clustering behaviors of the inertial spin model under general constant communication interactions For constant symmetric interactions on a connected graph, the system admits a gradient-like structure, which yields convergence to equilibrium. Suitable low-energy conditions exclude non-consensus limiting states, giving mono-clustering and exponential convergence to consensus. We will also discuss several classes of non-symmetric interactions in which suitable weighted structures still lead to mono-clustering and exponential convergence. The talk is based on recent joint work with Seung Yeal Ha, Myeonghyeon Kim, Jewoo Lee and Fanqin Zeng.
