Let $G$ be a reductive group over a finite field, with a maximal unipotent group $U$. In the eighties, Kazhdan and Laumon constructed a collection of sheaves on $G/U \times G/U$. I will discuss a comparison between the cohomology of the Deligne-Lusztig varieties and the cohomology of the Kazhdan-Laumon sheaves along the graph of Frobenius. I will also mention how to recover a theorem of Dudas on the Deligne-Lusztig restriction of the Gelfand-Graev representation using this result.
